Commentary:

Постамент конной статуи герцога Карла Александра (1818-1901), как «Защитника культуры Ваймара» работы скульптора Адольфа Брютта, поставленной в 1907 году.

1 мая 1946 года после того, как город вошёл в Советскую зону оккупации, памятник был уничтожен. Статуя, по-видимому, пошла на переплавку. Лишь много позже удалось разыскать постамент и установить его на площади имени Гёте в 2006 году.
