Summary
[edit]DescriptionWeighing machine and ancient freight trolley Totnes Station - geograph.org.uk - 689353.jpg |
English: Weighing machine and ancient freight trolley Totnes Station This weighing machine with its attendant floor pan, on the up line platform at Totnes station, is well preserved. The hand drawn freight trolley is clearly very old, with wheels of iron, probably. At a guess, I think it would be easy to manoeuvre it. Even after so many years of service, it is clearly still functional. I imagine that the weight of the trolley is well known, so that it can simply be wheeled onto the weigh pan and the weight of the load easily established by deducting the trolley weight. |
