F-104G CCV: Erprobungsträger auf Basis der F-104G Starfighter, mit dem die Steuerungs- und Regelungsgrundlagen eines aerodynamisch instabilen Flugzeuges im Flug erprobt wurde. Diese Daten waren unter anderem wichtig für die Entwicklung des MRCA PA-200 Tornado Schwenkflügelkampfflugzeuges.
VAK-191B: Eine von drei, Anfang der 1970er Jahre, in Deutschland entwickelten und gebauten Senkrechstarters mit Jetantrieb.
Hubtriebwerk für Senkrechtstarter VAK-191B und VJ-101C: es war (fast) senkrecht und leicht nach vorne geneigt, im Rumpf eingebaut und wurde zu Start und Landung gestartet. Während dem Flug war es aus und die dazu notwendigen Klappen geschlossen. Entwickelt in Zusammenarbeit mit MAN und Rolls-Royce.
Kaltlufthubdüse (links und rechts) der VAK-191B: diese wurde durch ein Hosenrohr aus der ersten Stufe des Rolls-Royce Pegasus Triebwerkes mit Luft versorgt, lag vor dem Schwerpunkt, erzeugte eine großen Teil des vertikalen Auftriebes und war im Winkel von ca. 100 Grad von leicht nach vorne bis Endlage hinten in Flugrichtung schwenkbar.
Heißlufthubdüse (links und rechts) der VAK-191B: sie wurde durch en Hosenrohr mit der Abluft des Kerntriebwerkes des Rolls-Royce Pegasus-Triebwerkes versorgt und erzeugte einen Großteil des vertikalen Auftriebes im Schwebeflug. Ebenso wie die Kaltluftdüse war es um ca. 100° schwenkbar. Diese Düse lag hinter dem Schwerpunkt. Die heiße Abluft konnte leicht die Startbahn beschädigigen. Um das und ein "Pumpen" des Triebwerkes zu verhindern, wurde daher der Rollstart dem reinen Senkrechtstart bevorzugt.
