English: Wavertree School, Prince Alfred Road This primary school was originally built in 1867 before the days of State education for all as a "National" school, the founding body being the National Society for the Education of the Poor according to the Principles of the Church of England. Prince Alfred Road was originally called "Cow Lane" and locals nicknamed the school "Cow Lane College". |
