Summary
[edit]DescriptionWatford station (Metropolitan line) - geograph.org.uk - 1749858.jpg |
English: Watford station (Metropolitan line) The short branch to Watford was opened as recently as 1925 as a joint venture between the Metropolitan Railway and the LNER. At first, half the trains ran to Baker Street, and half to the LNER's Marylebone terminus, but later the sole routeing was to Baker Street, with through trains to the City (Moorgate, Liverpool Street, or Aldgate) at rush hours only. Eventually, most trains continued as far as Aldgate, even off-peak. Watford 'Met' station serves the more select western areas of Watford, and is deservedly popular with its patrons. |
