[edit]DescriptionWaterton Lakes from Bears's Hump (15995354221).jpg |
Back in September we spent a weekend at Waterton and had a bit of a hike both days. This is a look back at the Prince of Wales Hotel from Bear's Hump. A great view of where the prairies meet the Rocky Mountains. Waterton is such a cool little mountain town. Much less busy and developed compared to Banff. The town shuts down for the Winter after around Labour Day and won't open again until Victoria Day long weekend. The Waterton National Park has an abundance of wildlife and we were lucky enough to see two black bears in one day during our stay. We'll be back some time exploring the other hiking trails in the future. Very lucky that this is less than 3hrs South of Calgary. If we can get to a comfortable fitness level, we might even attempt the Crypt Lake hike. That'd be pretty cool. |
