Description
English: Mixed spruce-fir and northern hardwood forest on the upper western slope of Waterrock Knob (el. 6,292ft/1,918m) in the Plott Balsams of Western North Carolina, USA. This view is from a cliff just off the Waterrock Knob Trail. The dead trees are Fraser firs killed by the balsam woolly adelgid.
