Description
English: Wateringbury's grade II listed type 12 signal box (built 1893) and manually operated level crossing gates are due to be closed and converted to an unmanned crossing in 2016. English Heritages citation listing the box explains that this and two others at Rye and Wye were citied due to their "close proximity to listed stations and might be considered on group value grounds in addition to their intrinsic interest". The signal to the right of the box has already been replaced by a light. The signal box is modeled by Hornby, item R9816.
