Holmes County Watering Trough Circa 1888
Made in a Millersburg foundry by A. Dagon. This trough served the needs of Holmes County residents who visited the courthouse for official business until about 1939. As the automobile traffic increased, the hitching rail was moved to the east side of the courthouse. The trough was removed to a farm west of town. It was recently recovered in 2005 and preserved by the Holmes County Historical Society.
