Summary
[edit]DescriptionWaterfall at Waterfall Cave - geograph.org.uk - 1099780.jpg |
English: Waterfall at Waterfall Cave The water trickling off the edge of the cliff is the seaward end of the Culverwell stream, with Waterfall Cave below. The fact that this stream terminates well above sea level is supposed to show that the rate of cliff retreat due to sea-cave collapse is greater than the down-cutting of the stream into the bedrock.
Fresh water from the stream was being blown by the north-east wind into my face as I took this photograph. The white chalk cliffs in the distance are on the coast between White Nothe and Lulworth Cove. |
