English: Water tower, Norchard Station, Dean Forest Railway Norchard is the site of a former colliery (Norchard) and power station (West Gloucestershire Power Station) in the Forest of Dean. The Dean Forest Railway, based at Norchard, runs between Lydney and Parkend in Gloucestershire. Now a heritage railway, the route was once part of the Severn and Wye Railway.
Norchard Low Level Platform is a terminus, used at the start and end of the day and High Level Platform to board trains to either Lydney or Parkend. The station has sidings and a shed and is the engineering base of the railway. Norchard Station has a free museum, gift shop and café (Plate-Layers Buffet) free car parking, souvenir shop, free museum. |
