English: Looking eastward along East Water Street in downtown Syracuse, New York, from the southeast corner of Clinton Square on a frigid February 2021 evening. The Gridley Building (1867) and the Onondaga Savings Bank Building (1896) are seen at the left and right margins of the image, respectively; in the background at right is the Art Deco-styled State Tower Building (1927), Syracuse's tallest at a height of 312 feet, with the diminutive green space of Hanover Square barely visible in front. These buildings comprise part of the Hanover Square Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. |
