Description |
English: Waste Paper Still Wanted whole: the image occupies the whole, with the title integrated and positioned in the upper quarter, in red. All set against a yellow and red background. image: a full-length depiction of a male figure made from papier-mache. He wears a jacket and hat made from sheets of newpaper, and a waistcoat made from a photograph of a tank factory. A used envelope is stuck to his leg, and he holds a megaphone made from a rolled up sheet of newspaper up to his mouth. This poster was scanned and released by the Imperial War Museum on the IWM Non Commercial Licence. The artwork was created by a commissioned military artist during their active service duties in the First World War. In the UK this these became controlled under the Crown Copyright provisions and so faithful reproductions may be reused under that licence, which is considered expired after 50 years. | |||
