A cadeira Wassily foi projetada em 1925 pelo arquiteto Marcel Breuer para mobiliar a casa do pintor Wassily Kandinsky. Na época ambos eram professores da escola Bauhaus, na cidade de Weimar na Alemanha. Breuer, que era o encarregado pela oficina de móveis da Bauhaus, aos 22 anos, andando de bicicleta, notou que o guidão em tubo de aço poderia ser moldado de diversas formas e, por que não, poderia ser utilizado como estrutura para móveis. Essa cadeira que até hoje encanta pelo seu desenho revolucionário marcou o século XX, não só pelo seu design, mas também pelo uso inédito de tubos de aço niquelados. |
