| Description |
English: Washed out tree roots, Derwentwater The summer visitor will almost always see pebbly beaches along this shore, but in winter the level of the lake often rises to cover these. It doesn't often cover these tree roots, but wet weather is often accompanied by westerly winds, and the waves whipped up can splash the water even higher. When this tree first grew, it would only have put down roots into soil, but the wave action has now washed this away from many tree roots along this shore leaving them clean for visitors to admire or sit on. |
