| Description |
English: Was there once a gate here? This single track lane runs for 3 miles from Broadwell to Clanfield. A sign at the Clanfield end calls it "Calcroft Lane" (fairly recent), but the sign at the Broadwell end states "Clanfield Gated Road. There are no gates now, and haven't been in my memory (35 - 40 years) but because of the posts I wonder if this was once the site of a gate. |
