Warwick Castle the times were not such that any great mans lightwas likely to remain for long hidden under a bushel. Let us turn, then, to examine the character of thetimes in which Warwick the King-maker came into hisimmense inheritance. The years in which he was growing to manhoodwere the years in which the King of England wasgradually losing his domains in France. The siegeof Orleans was in progress when he was born.
