English: Wartime aircrash memorial at New House crossroads Southeast of the village of Little Newcastle a memorial stone has been placed at the crossroads near where in 1943 a four-engined Liberator bomber plane, belonging to the USAAF, made a forced landing resulting in the death of the co-pilot, Lieut. Dale Canfield, and the injury of other crew.
The hill beyond is Mynydd Castlebythe. |
