| Description | Bildmotive zum 2023 eröffneten Erlebnispfad "Wartburgeselei" in Eisenach. Die zehnte Station betrifft den Eisenacher Ratsherren Velsbach. Dieser war 1262 an diesem Ort unterhalb der Wartburg gestorben, die Todesstrafe wurde mit Hilfe einer Wurfmaschine vollzogen, er flog gefesselt durch die Luft und schlug in diesem Bereich auf dem Erdboden auf. Er war sofort tot. Ein Gedenkstein (Velsbachstein) markierte die Stelle. Wie weit kann man springen? Velsbach wurde über 100 m durch die Luft geschleudert. |
