[London, Smith, Elder 1845] Reference Number: PUBL-0011-02-1 Wharepouri gesturing with a mere in his right hand, the Tory behind him and a rowboat with four men being rowed towards the ship. A Maori canoe and several men behind Wharepouri on the left. The background is Wellington Harbour, probably looking towards the harbour entrance, with Miramar peninsula on the right, taken from the western shore, near Petone. Wharepouri, who has full facial moko, is wearing a tiki, an earring and a cloak, either of dogskin or feathers, with a kaitaka border.
