English: War Memorial gate, Uig Cemetery Now the 'old' cemetery of Uig, this one replaced the even older cemetery lower down by the River Conon. That one was washed away in the great flood of 1877.
This view shows one of the several mighty Victorian headstones in the cemetery, and the rear of the impressive gateway that commemorates the dead of the two world wars. |
