English: War Memorial, Skelderskew Moor. A view of the rear of the memorial (see Phil's picture 165966 for the front) showing its commanding location down to North Ings Farm. There are two names listed below the badge of the Grenadier Guards:
Guardsman Robbie Leggott killed in action 1916 Alf Cockerill died of wounds 1920, duty 1914 Both were shepherds for the Gisborough Estate and this was their favourite spot. |
