Summary
[edit]DescriptionWar Horse 2023 Davin Arries b 1999 Oil on canvas Revelation 6 v 4.jpg |
English: War Horse 2023 Davin Arries b 1999 Oil on canvas, depicts the events of Revelation Chapter 6 Verse 4. The work is done with clear detail, and definite nods to divinity. I.e. There is a sense that the horse and rider is of abnormal size and that the setting is of a supernatural quality. The work expounds the true focuses of this piece, with a calm, yet telling presence , being the large sword as described in scripture, along with the crimson, or blood red horse. As is notable with Davin Arries he inscribes his signature in the bottom left. The piece serves as a continuation and builds upon "The lamb and first seal 2022". As the rider with his sword, and red horse is the result of Jesus Christ opening the second seal. The work of art above depicts the events of the following Scripture: Revelation 6:4 (NIV) 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
