Description
English: War Department Boundary Marker. A very weathered Cheshire sandstone boundary stone, which is just inside the Inner Bailey of Chester Castle, and is inscribed:

"W.D. ??? W.D. BOUNDARY EXTENDS TO OTHER SIDE OF WALL"

This statement agrees with the W.D. benchmark no 27 491618, which is on the other side of the wall.
