Description Wappen von Albert und Heinrich Varrentrapp (Hof Fahrentrappe in Hattingen-Oberelfringhausen). Im blauen Schild als Wappenbild eine silberne Trappe (Laufvogel) mit blaugrünen Krallen auf einer goldenen, dreisprossigen Leiter. Auf der Spitze des Helmes wiederholt sich als Helmbusch das Wappenbild. Wappenbrief-Verleihung an die beiden Brüder am 4. August 1417 im Auftrag von König Sigismund, verliehen durch Markgraf Friedrich von Brandenburg, vermutlich während des Konzils von Konstanz. – Original des Wappenbriefes im Österreichischen Staatsarchiv, Haus-, Hof- und Staatsarchiv Wien.
