Das Wappen wurde von Michael Heep Werbung in 55444 Schweppenhausen entworfen.
In dem neuen Wappen wurden Elemente aus der bisherigen Verbandsgemeinde Stromberg und Verbandsgemeinde Langenlonsheim verwendet, um die Fusion der beiden VGs zu symbolisieren.
