„Das Wappen des Landkreises zeigt in der oberen gespaltenen Hälfte vorn in Gold (Gelb) zwei rote Balken, hinten in Silber (Weiß) zwei rote Sparren ganz, oben zwei rote Sparrenansätze und unten eine rote Sparrenspitze, in der unteren Schildhälfte in Rot drei goldene (gelbe) Wolfsangeln.“
