Deutsch: Das Wappen der Stadt de:Delitzsch vereint in sich zwei verschiedene Wappen, das Haus- oder Stammeswappen der Wettiner und das der Markgrafschaft Meißen. Es zeigt zwei aufrecht stehende blaue Pfähle (Landsberger Pfähle), welche in einem goldenen Feld stehen und dieses in drei Teile spalten. In der Mitte des Hauptschildes des Stadtwappens sieht man in schräger Stellung als Mittelschild den Meißnischen schwarzen Löwen im goldenen Feld. Das Mittelschild ist nach vorn geneigt, und so erscheint der aufrecht stehende Löwe als gehend oder schreitend. Er hat zwei Schwanzbüschel, wobei deren Teilung in der Mitte der Rute beginnt, die auf die Markgrafschaft Meißen hinweisen soll. Als Beiwerk hat das Stadtwappen (1526 neu eingeführt) ein flatterndes Band, das die Inschrift trägt: "Secretum civium in delitzsch" (frei übersetzt: "Siegel der Bürgergemeinde Delitzsch"). Die Farben werden von den Wappenschreibern wie folgt erläutert: Die schwarze des Löwen ist eine preiswürdige und herrliche Farbe, unter den Tugenden deutet sie die Klugheit an, unter den Elementen wird sie mit der Erde verglichen. Die blaue Farbe deutet Schönheit und Demut an, ist ein Kennzeichen der Gerechtigkeit, des großen Ruhms und des guten Gerichts. Die goldene Farbe deutet auf Wohlstand, Guttätigkeit und göttliche Erkenntnis. |
