Laban greeted the servant with warmwords of welcome, and together they entered thecity gate and came to the tents of the householdof Bethuel. The camels were led to a resting-place,the great saddles laden with rich gifts carried to thetents, and a vessel of water set before the servantthat he might wash his feet. Bethuel now came into the tent and heard all theservants story from beginning to end, even to thepoint where he prayed Bethuel to let him takeRebekah back with him to be a wife to Isaac.Bethuel and Laban both gave their consent, andthe servant again thanked the Lord God. Then hetook the precious gifts that he had brought and laidthem before Rebekah. After this they all sat downto supper.
