English: the trees look like the Olive trees in Gethsemane and Mary's Tomb, but the walls of the city are seen from the west side, with Tower of David at the left and the Sultan's Pool at foreground. So it is a combination of two different viewpoints assembled on the same image.
Français : Les murailles de Jerusalem, vraisemblablement du côté ouest, vers le quartier arménien, avec la Tour de David à gauche (illustration fantaisiste qui n'est pas très fidèle à la réalité, en particulier, il a ajouté des portes inexistantes, sans doute pour faire plus joli. La plus grande partie de l'image est occupée par de gigantesques arbres, assez improbables, qui font penser aux vieux oliviers de Gethsemane, mais il les situe dans la piscine du sultan.) |
