Summary

[edit]
Description
English: George V wall-mounted post box at the Hod HaSharon (Israel) former post office, made by W.T. Allen & Co. Ltd. It was installed by the British Mandate authorities before 1936, and taken over by the Israeli Post Office in 1948 which ground off the "GR" Royal cypher and changed the collection plate. Traces of cypher are still visible: GR stands for Georgius Rex (King George V).
