English: Walcot Street and London Street Probably the most interesting street in Bath along with London Street.
Southgate Street, Milsom Street and the rest have long gone to the profits: you can bury Borough Walls: the crescents and circuses are where they belong: Walcot Street is just one step from paradise - if you are not careful. Walcot Street is so called because it was once the main road between Bath and Walcot village to the north east, now near the junction between the A4 and the A36. In 1887 it had its own penitentiary, mortuary and cemetery, has now fallen on hard times but is still full of life and interest. The street in front of us is classified as the A3039. Please note the Christmas lights; they are a jolly lot in Walcot Street. |
