Description
English: Wakefield County Hall Wakefield County Hall, showing the polygonal corner tower, which is topped by a dome. Built in 1894-1898, the architects were Gibson and Russell. It is a grade I listed building. The building was formerly the County Hall of the West Riding County Council from 1898 to 1974, and of the West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council from 1974 to 1986. It was acquired by the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council in 1987 as the Council’s main headquarters.
