Description

"Waiting for Mr Out-placer" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, 130 x 100 cm .xx

Outplacement should give the glow of a lighthouse and bring the joy of the bluebirds, the humming of the bumblebees, and a buzz of excitement back into our lives.

Becoming a victim of a company's downsizing makes us helpless and redundant. We can't find our place in the world anymore and need the lighting shine of support.

Next to divorce and death, the "redundancy trauma" is a highly nerve-racking experience.

The outplacer should give us a spark of the future, assistance for a new horizon, proper re-orientation, and a piece of fun and enjoyment.

If we cannot flap with the butterflies of "happiness," we must bring to life the cascades of "joy," conjuring up the spell of its enchantment and rolling cheerfully on the splashing waves of the future.

If we cannot start up to the sky of our dreams with the bluebirds of ecstasy or soar along on the rhythm of the bees, we must dare to think and apprehend what is hindering us, trying to capture the wonders of the moment.

If we misspell the message of our life story and cannot take control of the lane we have set out, we'll keep wobbling on the tightrope of our future.

Therefore, Mr. Outplacer can stimulate us to stay positive and remind us of our value and potential in identifying new directions.
