This is a photo of a woman at looking sadly at the Peace Arch in Washington with signs declaring it closed even though the engraving states, "may these gates never be closed."

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: I drove up to the Canadian border from Seattle where I had driven from Volcano, CA to see my daughters and granddaughter. Although I knew I couldn't go into Canada, I wanted to get as close as I could. The Peace Arch has so much meaning for our two countries, and for my husband who just received proof of his Canadian Citizenship. I am hoping for the end of Covid-19 and that our two countries will meet up again soon. The image of this woman looking forlornly at the fenced in Peace Arch was the exact feeling I was trying to portray.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 96001493.
