| Description |
English: Waiting buses outside Toshiba factory, Ernesettle - Plymouth The buses stand on one side of an abandoned dual carriageway that once served as one of the routes into the housing estate. Land opposite became used for storage and parking of containers so the road was closed and another, Northolt Avenue, built adjacent to it though this isn't a dual carrieageway. The Toshiba factory is to close soon with just 50 support staff remaining. The factory, as did many others in the UK, provided job opportunities for many of those living on the estate. Production is to be transferred to Poland. |
