Der Alte Marstall und die Alte Gemüsehalle

Auf dem Dorotheenplarz ließ König Wilhdm I. 1863 aus Eisen und Glas eine große Gemüsehalle errichten, welche er der Stadt Stuttgart zum Geschenk machte. 1912 mußte sie der heutigen Markthalle weichen. In der Bildmitte der „Alte Marstall“ von 1566, im 19. Jahrhundert Polizei- und Stadtdirektionsgebäude, zuletzt Sitz des Medizinalkollegiums, 1906 abgebrochen. Am rechten Bildrand ein Stück des Gasthofs „Zum König von England“.
