English: Wainhouse Tower emerging from the morning mist Wainhouse Tower is a very prominent landmark in the Calder Valley. Built as a dyeworks chimney, it has an improbably ornate top, with balconies and viewpoints across Halifax and the Calder Valley. Closed to the public at the moment (Nov 2007) while the council explore ways of restoring this great Victorian folly. |
