| Description |
Deutsch: Die Wäschemangel des Alexanderwerks ist eine Übergangsform zwischen einer Wringmaschine und einer (spezialisierten) Mangel. Sie besteht aus einem metallernen Gestell, zwei Rollen aus Holz und einer gusseisener Handkurbel die über ein Getriebe die Rollen antreibt. Über den Rollen ist ein Brett, das vor allem der Stabilität des Geräts dient. Interessanter ist jeweils ein Brett vor und hinter den Rollen. Diese ermöglichen es Wäschstücke glatt auszurichten und diese dann durch den Druck der Rollen und mehrmaliges Hin- und Herrollen nicht nur von einem Großteil des eingelagerten Wassers zu befreien, sondern auch diese zu glätten.
