| Description |
English: Wadsley Bridge railway station (site), Sheffield Opened in 1845 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, later the Great Central Railway on the line from Manchester London Road via Woodhead to London Marylebone, this station closed to regular passenger traffic in 1959. It was used by football specials for the nearby Hillsborough football ground until 1996. View north west towards Oughty Bridge and Woodhead from a passing excursion train. Only the dilapidated platforms now remain. |
