English: Pieces of honeycombs under construction.
Deutsch: Stücke von Bienenwaben, die die Bienen ohne Rahmen frei gebaut haben. Je nach den Umständen findet man die Waben in verschiedenen Farben vor. Die ursprüngliche weiße Farbe des Wachses sieht man noch an der linken Wabe, die bei guter Tracht gerade erst im Honigraum gebaut wurde. Befindet sich die Wabe einige Zeit im Volk, nimmt sie eine gelbe Farbe an, wohl durch den Kontakt mit Propolis und anderen Bienenprodukten. Waben, die längere Zeit im Stock sind, können auch erheblich dunklere Farbe annehmen, selbst wenn sie noch nicht bebrütet wurden. |
