Description
Deutsch: Historistisches Porträtbild der Herzogin Elisabeth von Österreich (gest. 1330) aus der Dynastie der Wittelsbacher. Sie war eine Tochter von Herzog Stephan (I.) von Niederbayern und die erste Ehefrau von Herzog Otto von Österreich, Steier und Kärnten sowie Herr auf der Krain. Das Bild ist heute an der Ostwand der Klosterkirche und jetzigen Pfarrkirche in Neustift an der Mürz aufgehängt, gemeinsam mit einem weiteren historistischen Porträtbild, das ihren Ehemann zeigt. Beide Porträts sind aufeinander abgestimmt und bilden zusammen ein Doppelporträt, wobei Elisabeth und Otto als Stifterpaar des Klosters Neuberg an der Mürz dargestellt sind. Der Maler ist unbekannt, das Bild, das nicht als authentisch gilt, ist zwischen 1731 und 1747 entstanden und gilt als nicht authentisch.
English: Historic portrait of Duchess Elisabeth of Austria (died 1330) from the Wittelsbach dynasty. She was a daughter of Duke Stephan (I.) von Niederbayern and the first wife of Duke Otto of Austria, Styria and Carinthia as well as Herr auf der Krain. The picture is now hung in the monastery church and current parish church in Neustift an der Mürz, together with another historicist portrait picture showing her husband. Both portraits are coordinated and together form a double portrait, with Elisabeth and Otto being shown as the donor couple of the Neuberg an der Mürz monastery. The painter is unknown, the picture that is not considered authentic is probably from the 18th century and is considered not to be authentic.
