American poster/chart showing various uniforms of the German Army (Wehrmacht Heer) of Nazi Germany during World War II, including Panzer, tropical, field gray, alpine troops, etc., boots, contents of their packs, etc. Issued by the U.S. War Dept., in January 1944:

"Newsmap - Volume 2, Number 40" published 1/24/1944; unrestricted access and use.

    • Field gray uniforms officers and men:
      • Field caps, national emblem, steel helmet, decals, equipment, tornister, infantry rifleman.
      • Breeches, service caps, belt buckles, emblems, device, cockade, overcoat, blouse, leggins.
    • Mobile troops (Schnelle Truppen)
      • Black uniform, Panzer beret, field cap, Totenkopf device, lapel, emblem, device, etc.
      • Saddle bags, Panzer Grenadier armored infantry, boots, high shoe, etc.
    • Mountain uniforms. Officers and men.
      • Signal troops, mountain cap, service caps, shoe, puttees, white jacket, Edelweiss device. Gebirgsjäger.
      • Gebirgsjäger. Snow camouflage cowerall, calico wind jacket, rucksack, white hooded coat.
    • Tropical uniforms. Officers and men.Mediterranean region, Afrika Korps.
