| Description |
English: The sign for Mike Herrera's place, 31440 Chihuahua Valley Road. Walk 0.2 miles east to the driveway, then 0.1 mile north to private new water tank above the house. The water in the tank should be filtered. If there is no water in the tank, there should be water on the back porch; go through a hole in the fence next to the water tank and down the trail to the house. There is a netted porch to keep the bugs off, and a shower outside. Per Mike Herrera at the house, Oct 30, 2009, he is very eager to meet and assist hikers; they are welcome to stop by his place (this is not an invitation to go in his house). (paraphrased)*
We met a couple of hikers that had gone down to Mike's house on a Sunday and he fed them pizza. They were very upbeat about their visit. Obviously, Mike must be a good host when he is around. Having an outdoor shower sounds awesome when you've been on the trail for a while.
