Title
WMID-9C8665. Roman Colchester derivative brooch (profile, front)
Description
English: Cast-copper-alloy Colchester derivative brooch. Roman period, 1st – 2nd century AD. Mass: 3.7g; length: 24.6mm; width: 13.8mm; depth: 9.4mm. The arched bow, head and one side-wing remain. The bow is D-shaped in section. There is a median ridge running down the head and upper portion of the bow, and there is grooved decoration on the bow. The brooch appears to have been hinged, but due to surface condition, this is rather unclear.
