Het Bätz-orgel in de Nicolaaskerk te Purmerend werd in 1777: gebouwd door Gideon Thomas Bätz als huisorgel voor J.H. Tissel te Amsterdam. In 1964 werd op inititatief van Jan Jongepier door de Hervormde Gemeente te Purmerend een historisch éénklaviers orgel aangekocht en in de Nicolaaskerk (toen Grote Kerk geheten) geplaatst. Het is een orgel met een zeer levendige geschiedenis; het heeft heel wat afgereisd: 1777: gebouwd door Gideon Thomas Bätz als huisorgel voor J.H. Tissel te Amsterdam. 1816: Evangelisch Lutherse Kerk te Beverwijk. 1875: Hervormde Kerk te Wijk aan Zee. 1905: Gereformeerde Kerk te Medemblik. 1939: Gereformeerde hulpkerk te Heemstede. 1957: Gereformeerde Pinksterkerk te Heemstede. 1964: Grote Kerk te Purmerend (als koororgel, geplaatst in de noord-oost kapel). 1978: Raadzaal van het v.m. stadhuis aan de Kaasmarkt te Purmerend (na restauratie). 2003: Herplaatst als koororgel in de Nicolaaskerk te Purmerend.
