Description

Santa Maria de Vallformosa té origen romànic. Està documentada des de l'any 1087. A mitjan segle XVII l'església es deuria quedar petita i va ser substituïda per l'edifici actual. A la finestra de l'absis hi ha la data de 1652. Un segle més tard es va fer l'actual portalada neoclàssica (1778).

El temple consta de tres naus, estructura que no es fa visible exteriorment perquè les naus laterals tenen un pis superior, a mode de trifori, que les iguala amb la nau principal. L'absis és semicircular, sense cap ornamentació exterior. Adossat a la façana principal hi ha el campanar, de torre octogonal.

Al costat de l'església hi ha el cementiri, del segle XIX.
