Pieter Bruegel de Oude (1525-1569) The tower of Babel Bruegel depicts here the biblical story of man's recklessness and the Babylonian confusion of languages.He took inspiration for this painting from the Colosseum in Rome. Bruegel verbeeldt hier het bijbelverhaal over de overmoed van de mensheid en de Babylonische spraakverwarring. Hij liet zich voor dit schilderij inspireren door het Colosseum in Rome. Foto genomen op 21 juni 2009 tijdens Midzomer evenement voor WLANL georganiseerd door Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. |
