Description
Nederlands: Vincent van Gogh 1853 - 1890

Korenveld, 1888 Wheatfield

'I have now spent a week hard at work in teh cornfields, under a blazing sun,' Van Gogh wrote to Theo on 21 June 1888. The subject gave him every opportunity to experiment with brushstroke and colour. In this painting, he has positioned teh horizon unusually high in teh canvas, so the yellow-gold field almost wholly fills teh paiting.

This photo was taken on 23 june 2009 during a one-time exclusive photo session at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam for the Wiki Loves Art /NL project.
