| Description |
English: The heads of IP offices of Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Peru and WIPO Director General Daren Tang signed on June 28, 2021 a memorandum of understanding establishing the Latin American Network on Intellectual Property and Gender.
The letter was signed (from top left to right) by Peru’s Executive President, National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property Hania Pérez de Cuéllar, Chile’s Director General National Institute of Industrial Property Loreto Bresky, Colombia’s Superintendent of Industry and Commerce Andrés Barreto and Costa Rican National Registry Fabiola Varela. At the virtual signing ceremony, Mr. Tang, said “The creation of this Network is of great significance for your region and beyond. I am honored to join you in this important shared commitment you are making to supporting women to innovate and create.” He said WIPO, nominated a honorary founding member, will support the development of this Network and expressed confidence that in due course other countries will join the initiative.
